Cool demo of Linux XGL desktop makes Vista look like crap...

Wait until the cube multimonitor thing comes up - VERY cool. Stretches your desktop across the surface of a cube.

If only they can make it easy for anyone who uses linux this way. I think it takes quite a lot of customization which most ordinary users can do it.

Yes, it looks fantastic,. btw, what are the hardware requirements? i believe this can be a very good rival for vista,.. who needs vista? we have linux xgl,. except that most softwares won't be available for it right? anyone know what other 3rd party softwares it supports? like MS word or openoffice?

Well, I recognize the distro in the video as the "Zenwalk" distro. I think it's a Slackware based distro. However I think anyone can set it on any Linux distro with the right software (I suspect its X windows and some OpenGL software) .

And I bet you won't need super high end hardware to do it (unlike Vista which doesn't even come close...).

True,...
My specs are intel core 2 duo with 1Gb ram running vista home premium.. it feels as if i'm running winxp with a PenIII with 128Mb Ram...

I was really waiting for longhorn,.. this is the longhorn we get,.. it's really longggg with error logs lor...
