Setup a web hosting company

I want to setup a web hosting company but really do not know how. I see those hostmonster etc how to compete. Is it worthwhile to setup? Or shd I just sign up as their affiliate?

It depends on a few things.

First, your expertise. Can you do server administration, setup etc by yourself? If yes, you can probably buy a server, put in DC and start the business.

Second, you need to find your niche, unique selling point and marketing strategy. Beware, hosting is a very competitive business.

I would advise to start as a reseller. Get to know the technology and process before jumping into starting your own business. Hope this help.

Trend will become famous soon enough
I think that the best for you would be - start with reseller options. I think that in this case you can join to the market easily and sign out easily as well. I have tried once. And for now I think that this business need partner to start.

I believe you may start from reselling to see how the company works and estimate their abilities. I behaved like that and wasn't sorry as I have seen how the company functions. You should begin with, for example Downtownhost.com reseller program as they provide their services cheaply with in-house support.

There are two of the largest, oldest, and most popular free website companies are Geocities and Tripod. You can comment on and rate each host by going to that host's review page.
There are also automated features ratings for each free web host based on that web host's features. You want more details about it you can search on Google you can get way.

I can suggest you to be a reseller first of all to get enough money for your company and to get to know backward and forward in this kind of business.

I think it's better to join affiliate program, then step be step to be a reseller, and after that to start a hosting company.

The first thing to do is to walk around your neighbourhood and to ask local businesses what do they need. it will be easy to attract them as customers.

Hello,

Before starting the hosting business, do the market analysis in the following areas.

1. What defined market am I trying to reach?
2. What specific companies are servicing this market?
1. Are they successful?
2. Are there other companies servicing this market with a similar product?
3. Are they successful?
4. What is their market share?
3. Is the market saturated or wide open? If so, why?
4. What is the size of the market?
1. Is it a growing market?
2. Is the industry stable, volatile, growing or trendy?
5. How can I reach this market?
1. How do my competitors reach the market?
6. What are the business models of my competitors?
7. What do customers expect from this type of product or service?
8. What core competencies must the product or service have?
9. What are customers willing to pay for this type of product or service?
10. What is my competitive advantage?

If you need any help on this, ping me via:

even your product, your service , your price is similar but try to make it look different, sound different, promote it in different way may benefit you. Rather then compete , you may find out another market with different marketing plan.

I recommend you to ask yourself a few questions -
What is that I'm gonne offer my clients that other companies do not offer.
What clients' problem will my product/service solve?

Hello,

If you want to start your own web hosting business then you should not go for the affiliate. Because in affiliate you cannot set your own price for your hosting plans.

Below are some check list on starting your web hosting co.

1. Company Name (logo)
2. Website (domain and website design)
3. You can either get a reseller plan or get a VPS
4. As a start I recommned you to get a reseller plan (because in vps you will require a lot of time for installation of (LAMP)
5. When you have your site that the time to setup the billing and packages (mostly this is in WHMCS).

You can private message me for more information.

Thanks
