2 Domains attached to 1 VPS?

Hey guys,

A sponsor has offered me a VPS to start a Hosting Company, and was wondering how I would be able to go about attaching 2 domains to my VPS (which uses cPanel & WHM). I know this is possible, as i've seen several companies have two different subdomains which they allow their customers to choose from (e.g mycompanydomain.com & shorterdomain.com).

The second thing is, would I be able to make both sites show the same content which I upload to my public_html?

Greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Bobby

Bobby, the answer is yes to both questions.

You can login to WHM, and click "Create A New Account". If you do it twice, you will have 2 domains in your VPS. If you want the second domain pointed to the first domain, you can just park your second domain on top of the first domain by clicking 'Park A Domain'.

Do I need to add both? And.. how do I allow my customers to be offered that domain as a subdomain as well?

If you want different content for two of your websites you have two options

1. Addon domain to be added from cPanel
2. Create a new account from WHM

With addon domain, you will have one cPanel account to manage both the websites. The second option of adding a new account from WHM, gives you two cPanel accounts to manage each of them.

If you want the same contents for both the websites, the option is parked domains and not addon domain

You can easily allow your customers to have a subdomain under your domain and many companies already do.

if your domain name is domain.com , simply create a new account in WHM using sub_name.domain.com in the domain field.

If you have to create subdomain under your main domain, just login into cPanel of main domain and click on subdomain tab. There you can create subdomain.
