which one do you prefer? free or paid live chat? Do you think it is stupid to go for a paid one? or worth to pay for it due to security?

If paying is stupid, then those who are offering things free could be worse.

There's a reason to everything usually.

If people truly value security and go for paid versions, then usually you can expect them to be from the corporate or organizations - generally with a serious content being delivered.

If people go for free versions, then usually you can expect them to be "testing" the technologies, or simply playing around with the free stuff online, thus usually from the individual consumers or "R&D" functions of any corporate or organizations - generally casual content is being delivered.

I will go for free chat. Anyways, it's up to you if you will bite any marketing strategies or advertisement in it. You're not obliged anyway. However, you have to be very careful with your important info. someone might intercept it.

I'm a huge fan of Kayako, its pretty expensive but it all depends on the "user experience" you want to give to your customers.

Live chat and support works really clean and smooth, no hickups at all.

But if your a little light on the cashy cash, (due to over-dosing on 4d)
Try one of the many chat programs in fantastico.

I take back my love for Kayako, Lately we have found it really buggy and had major issues with customers not connecting with us on live chat.

We have moved to live person now, much more expensive than kayako but its completely worth it. Live person is amazing.
